We had a flock of chickens when I was a kid that my sister and I grew quite attached to. Unfortunately, Dad bought them to raise as food so we had to say goodbye eventually. I have to say they don't make the best pets if you want cute and fluffy, and the cockerel can be damned loud, but they're definitely interesting. ^^

Oo, woolly! I like sheeps too. I was just thinking last night that it would be so cool if I knew how to card and spin wool. Then I could have sheeps to keep my chickens company and make sweaters to wear while I cook me up an omelet.

Oh no... I'm afraid I couldn't do the food raising thing. I'm just too much of a wussy to deal with the notion of eating animals I'd raised myself. I'm kind of embarrassed about it, honestly. It's not like I haven't eaten chickens other people raised.

There are some cute and fluffy breeds out there, like silkies. I knew someone who had a pet silkie chicken who lived in the house. Wore a diaper and everything.
